Sharon's Story
Forty years is a lot of time to catch up on! After graduating from Furman, I taught school in Lancaster (1 yr), John's Island (2), then moved to Texas. I earned my master's and then later my doctorate. I began teaching college at LeTourneau University in Longview TX where I developed their undergraduate education program.
I came back east for family reasons to Augusta State Univ (Ga.) for 3 years, Newberry College for 4 years, and now I'm in my fourth year for Southern Wesleyan University. I taught full-time in the graduate education program here at the Charleston Learning Center for one year, the I retired!.
I've attended and served in several Baptist churches at my various locations.

milies. John's family lives in the greater Charleston area. My sister Fran and brother Bill still live in Union. My sister Mary still lives in Columbia -- we're so grateful that she had kidney transplant four years ago and the kidney is functioning great!
My inspiration comes from my sister Mary, who is an angel on earth. I admire her so much for having the determination to live her life to the fullest, in spite of rheumatoid arthritis and numerous surgeries.
If I won $100 million, I'd give $90 million of it to churches and world hunger opportunities, then spend the rest on visiting beaches in various parts of the world, eating Godiva chocolate, and reading Kindle books.
My current age is 65. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be old and decrepit. I was completely disappointed to find out my prediction is true :). Well, old maybe, but I still get around pretty well and enjoy life.
