Sharon's Story
Life
Graduated East Hartford High School in 1961. Attended University of Virginia. Quit after a year to join the Peace Corps in Chaingmai, Thailand, where I taught English as a second language and created a recreation program at McLean Leprosy Village. Came back after my stint there and lived the hippie lifestyle for a while, living in a commune and organizing anti-war and women's movement activities. Eventually went back to school at the University of New Mexico, then worked in New Hampshire as Company Manager and Producer of children's shows for a professional theater company. g out of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and also traveling through Nepal for several weeks as a line producer and still photographer for the production. After the film project ended, I moved to beautiful Seattle to pursue my own artistic endeavors and have been here since. Currently I work part-time for a non-profit organization as a videography producer, and am also writing a book after having traveled to Europe several times, as well as throughout the U.S. and parts of Canada, interviewing and photographing subjects. I continue to be a political activist in the environmental, civil rights, animal rights (I'm a vegetarian), and participatory democracy arenas. I never officially "married", but had a partner whom I loved for many years. He died of cancer a short while ago. So, that's my vagabond life in a brief nutshell, so far!
