Sharon's Story

Life I am married with three children daughter, son and a daughter. At this time all of the children haved moved on to their own adult responsible lives and I am slowly becoming accustomed to the empty nest syndrome. In otherwards the house is very quiet except for the barking of the dogs and the sound of carpentry equipment as we renovate the house. I have completed my diploma in Child and youth care and look forward to working on my Bachelor of Education in Child and Youth Care over the next few years. Who says you can't have a life and live on dialysis. Still live in the little town in BC, but am looking to relocate in the next few years in order to complete my degree and possibly be closer to where the kids are living. And now that the kids have left and I have accomplished as much as I can, I look forward to the possibility of a kidney transplant to ensure that I can finish off the education and return to a fulfilling job. 2017 I am still...Expand for more
living in Trail BC with my husband. I am now his fulltime caregiver as he is living with advanced dementia. I did receive a kidney transplant 9 years ago and cherish the freedom that it has given me. I am the proud Nain to three beautiful granddaughters ages 7 years, 3 years and 2 months. the youngest 2 live with my youngest daughter here in Trail so I see them often. I continued with online university courses towards my degree in Child and Youth care. Now I pass what free time I have sewing for the girls. June 2019 I lost my husband in March of 2018. It was hard to say goodbye, but I am privileged to have been able to care for him at home where love and family surrounded him. Life to goes on and I am able to help my daughter with day care for my 2 youngest grandchildren.; the girls are now 2, 5 and 8. The five year old is in kindergarten and comes to me after school.. I continue to keep myself busy and would like to travel back east one day.
