Sharon's Story
Life
I was always the painfully shy, quiet, girl with the ugly hornrimmed glasses sitting in the back of the class, trying not to be noticed as a kid. I was good at art though and used to draw and paint quite a lot. Art and reading were my passions. Well, I've certainly outgrown the shyness and the ugly glasses went a long, long time ago....
I've been happily married to the same great guy for over 38 years. (Yes, these days, amazing, I know!) We lived in Ohio for 5 years before moving back to CA in 1977. We have 4 children. Twin boys born in 1974, another boy 3 years later, then we completed our family in 1983 when we adopted a precious little girl from Korea. What an amazing experience! We also raised a grand-daughter for the past 16 years, doing the "parent thing" all over again. (Just when you think you can relax! Ha!) I also babysit our youngest grandson full time, 5 days a week.
After High School I trained as a Nurses Aid/Medical Receptionist and worked in Marion and Marysville Comm. Hospitals in Ohio. I've also worked in sales for Sears. My most challenging job though has been raising my children. Not an easy thing to do, especially these days. Anyone who puts down a "Stay at Home Mom" will hear a thing or two from me! It is, by far, the most difficult, most challengi...Expand for more
ng and most rewarding career of all.
My most memorable moments in life so far are;
1)Backpacking over 500 miles in the High Sierras and Grand Canyon over a 3 year period.
2) Traveling to Europe six times. I've visited England, Ireland, Switzerland and once had a whirwind weekend in Paris, France! Last year we traveled to Australia and New Zealand.
3)Seeing my children grow into wonderful adults that very I'm proud of.
Life is a great adventure and I can hardly wait to see what comes next!
I'd love to reconnect with some of my old, long lost friends. You can find me here, or on Facebook.
