Sharon's Story
Life
I have four (4) grown children (Tony, Roosevelt Class of 1982; Keith, Lauren, and Kimberly), and several grandchildren (Brianna, Junior, Devon, Dominique, Jelani, Zhane, and Nicholas). I own my home, alone, and enjoy driving almost anywhere. I am retired, but currently working. I have lived in New Mexio, Texas, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia; and, most recently from May 2005 - August 2006, I lived in Trinidad, West Indies...whereas, I was the only witnessto an auto accident that was captioned as "Kidnap - Murder" on the front page of the Trinidad newspaper, Monday, June 29, 2006. A death threat was made to "chop off my head"; therefore, I CAM HOME! I am back home and glad to be home.
My family and I experienced a very bad accident in 1990 In Walterboro, SC, whereas, a CSX locomotive hit us at 70 MPH in our auto. We all survived but sustained multiple, life threatening, injuries. I was in another bad accident on New York Avenue, NW, when a car ran a traffic light, broad-sided my car, and bounced me into an on-coming car that hit me head on...I was in traction for four months, in 2002. In 2003, a dump truck wi...Expand for more
th a utility pole attached to the side with a snow plow in the front of it - with temperatures in the 60's, decided to make a right turn off of 6th Street, NW, DC, and take me and my car with him...on the end of the utility pole, five (5) feet in the air! No, I was not at fault (smilezz)...for any of these accidents. My family and I have been blessed and I know it was not our time to go, but I will not test Fate and go stand in front of a moving vehicle to find out if I am invincible (smilezz).
My life has been filled with unusuallly "exciting" (basically haunting, scary, and lifethreatening) experiences that have given me further and intense respect and protection for life...of all kinds.
Through my intense experiences, I have learned that the smallest possitive intities of our life should be expounded upon and utilize the negativety as merely a learning process to enable a more cherished and possitive outlook on our remaining years; and take one moment at a time. Connect with those of us who still remain and try to not forget those who have crossed over...we are here but once...do NOT take that for granted, nor each other!
