Sharon's Story
Life
Surprised to see so many fellow classmates signed up here -- Hi everybody!
I'm still enjoying my single life and living in Oak Forest (Again!). Purchased the house I grew up in after my Mom passed away. I've been riding my bike in the summer on the wonderful bike paths through the forest preserve. Have even been doing some of my own house repairs (plumbing & electrical). Want to save up money to do some decorating but need to fix the roof first! ;)
I'm proud of myself for earning my Bachelor's Degree in Finance from DePaul University in 2001 while working full time.
My class had their 20 year reunion in the fall of 2005 and I had such a nice time seeing everybody who made it. I believe everybody had a good time! Hopefully, we'll have another one in five years instead of ten. I'm hoping to get in touch more often with some friends I've missed...
School
I liked school. It's a little difficult to work and go to school, but so many people do it that I feel it's nothing special. Although, people often say, "I give you credit for being so motivated!"

lege and obtained an A.A.S. in Computerized Accounting. Before that, Fox College for secretarial skills (hi, Sherry, Debbie & Katie!)
Thinking about a Master's Degree...
Workplace
During H.S. worked at an auto dealership. During Fox College, worked at Oak Forest Hospital.
After Fox, worked at General Parking Corporation (now called InterParking).
Left GPC and worked at consulting firm William M. Mercer, Inc. (now Mercer Human Resourses Consulting) and attended DePaul. My "Then Photo" was taken for a Mercer yearbook in 1989.
Was laid off from Mercer in Nov. 2001. Had worked at a movie theatre (3 Penny Cinema) for a bit and at the end of 2003, started working at an off-campus bookstore but discovered it was not for me.
Went back working for the theatre in an office manager/accounting capacity. Got to see trade screenings before movies are open to the public.
In the summer of 2005, I began working three days a week for a law firm (Flamm, Teibloom & Stanko, Ltd.) in an accounting capacity. The City of Chicago closed 3 Penny. Now I'm working four days at the law office. Could work five, but I have been able to get by on pay of four days. It's nice to have a day in the week for errands or appointments.
