Sharon's Story
I went to MD U for 2 yrs, then Strayer and then became legal secretary for H&H in DC. Just retired after 43 yrs. Despite only taking 1 typing course in high school as elective in senior year, ended up as secretary, but I did quite well for myself for not finishing college.
I was divorced from my first husband after 10 years. He went to Vietnam after we were married for 9 mos. He came back with long hair and bushy mustache and had a lot of nightmares. He left for CA to be an actor, and died couple of years ago after motorcycle accident.
I married a second time 18 years ago, but he just died Jan. 2008 of lung cancer. If you smoke, please stop. Chemo and trouble breathing is a miserable life and taking care of so...Expand for more
meone in that phase is so sad.
My father died of heart attack at age 52, my brother died of heart attack at age 47, and both were heavy smokers. My mother quit smoking after my father died and she lived to age 82, but died in 2002, more of dementia and mourning my brother and was in nursing home and very unhappy.
My 2d late husband, Jack, was a ballroom dance instructor and I helped him with his community classes. I still dance, but I've missed teaching, but hope to do that again soon, by helping his mentee, who now teaches.
If anyone is interested in ballroom dancing and lives anywhere near Beltsville, where you are welcome to come to the dances on 2d Sat. of the month or every Tue. from 1-3 pm at K2 Dance.
