Sharon's Story
I grew up in Santa Maria and attended the following schools: Alvin Elementary (kindergarten), Main Street (first through sixth), El Camino Jr. High, and Santa Maria High School.
Upon graduation, I enrolled at Hancock College and received my Associate Degree. Within several weeks, I landed my first full-time job at Columbia Records and stayed there for about six years. From there, I went back to Hancock as an employee for little over a year, left and then in 1973 secured a job as Administrative Secretary to the City Manager. I stayed with the City of Santa Maria for eleven years and then in 1984 moved on to the position of Executive Secretary to the Superintendent for the Santa Maria-Bonita School District. I retired from this position in 2001.

ildren, but we will celebrate 36 years of wedded bliss this year. Amazing!
After living in several homes in the Santa Maria/Orcutt area, we moved to Nipomo in 1986. We enjoyed a fairly large house and an acre of land for 20 years. We decided to downsize in 2006 and found a cute little Victorian in the Village of Arroyo Grande. Our "new" old home has lots of history and we thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to walk to town or the park. Life is good!
I have attended all of our reunions and love to see old friends. If I see you and don't say hello, please say hello to me! I hate to say it, but some of us have changed over the years, which makes recognition difficult :(
Oh, and by the way, we have a monthly gals night out for the classes of 1963, 1964, 1965, etc. Come join us for lots of laughter and fun!
