Sharon's Story
I’m married to a retired Navy Captain. We both graduated from Texas Tech. Bill majored in journalism and I majored in mathematics. We’ve lived in Lubbock TX, San Diego (twice), Guam (where Biill’s ship was home ported during Viet Nam, Connecticut in the Hartford area where we raised our 2 children. I’ve worked over the years - teaching high school mathematics, as an insurance underwriter and retiring as a marketing director. We are enjoying San Diego - especially the weather. We lived in CT for 22 years. Great place to raise a family. Our daughter followed her father into journalism and our son is involved in medical coding (that’s how insurance companies pay your hospital bills) We have a granddaughter taking a gap year off from college. (When did that become a thing?).
Bill and I have been fortunate to have traveled a good bit over the years — some of it thanks to the Navy. We’ve celebrated our 57th wedding anniversary.
