Sharon's Story
Hello. After leaving high school, I took a great interest in the law and in 1974 became a Charter Member of the National Association of Legal Assistants. I went on to further my education at Oakland University, receiving my certification as a Legal Assistant in 1980. I worked as a legal assistant and legal administrator for the Federlein & Grylls law firm in Royal Oak for 18 1/2 years and was acknowledged by my peers as Legal Secretary of the Year in 1979. tion department before elevating to the position of Judicial Assistant to the Honorable James R. Adams. In May 1994, I went to work for the largest law firm in SW Florida, Henderson Franklin, as the Senior Legal Assistant and Intake Coordinator for the Trial & Insurance Practice Section. When the position of Program Analyst for Florida's Children and Youth Cabinet was recently opened (January 1, 2008) Lieutenant Governor Jeff Kottkamp asked me to join his team. What a wonderful opportunity to finish out my working years. I am a former Guardian Ad Litem, County Court Mediator and current Juvenile Arbitrator.
