Sharon's Story
I was the girl who came to school every day because I loved gym. I loved softball, gymnastics, anything to do with phys ed. Most people hated their time in high school, I on the other hand loved the whole experience. There were those who had to give me a hard time or have a laugh at my expense but I guess what didn't kill me definitely made me stronger.
I moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. after graduation and lived there for a couple of years but missed my friends so much that I moved back to Ct. Soon after I met a guy that I married and had 2 wonderful children with. That lasted 20 years but came to an end. I married again in 2000 to a wonderful guy, Mike and hopefully we'll spend our golden years together.
Over the years I've been employed as a receptionist, secretary, Purchasing Agent, deli clerk, and for the last 12 years an owner of 3 businesses. I was semi retired working at Kohl’s in New Milford and then when we moved to South Carolina I started to drive a school bus, cool experience. In 2019 I totally retired to spend more time with my husband, kids and grandkids.
My political views have changed over the years. I guess I pay more attention and I'm fascinated about how our government works (or doesn't). I've fared...Expand for more
well most of my life, guess you could say I've always been in the right place at the right time, never really had to look for a job it always found me.
My biggest accomplishments are my 2 kids. Both are way smarter than I am, the older one has 2 degrees Acct. & Marketing and the younger one has a BS, MS & CPA. I expect they will make their mark on the world.
I wasn't going to go to the 40th Reunion but 2 things happened that changed my mind; first we'll be moving to South Carolina next year and the commute back may be difficult and second; last spring I found out I had breast cancer and I'm winning the fight and every day I'm happier to be alive so I may not have been really close to most of my classmates but all of you helped mold the person I turned out to be and I'm pretty happy about how my life turned out.
So anyone that would like to chat about the good old days, I'm up for it. Email or Facebook me or just pick up a phone and call and say "hi".
My summary of the 50th Reunion, if you were a wall flower then you still are today. Just look at the photos, same people all the time. You’d never know there were other people there. No worries, nothing to prove to anyone anymore. Go live your lives and be happy, The End!
