Sharon's Story
Life
I have been happily married to my husband Dale since 1970. At the time we met Dale was in the Navy and attending DVC part time and I was working full time and also attending DVC part time. After we married we moved to Ventura, California where we both continued our education at CSUN. (I received my BA and BS degrees in Social Work and Business Administration). After we graduated we moved to San Diego where we currently live. (We did live in Austin, Texas from 1995-2000). In 1979 I went back to graduate school and completed my masters in Computer Science in May 1981. Several months later (Dec.) our first son David was born. He's currently in college and doing well. He has had to undergo a number of surgeries (spinal for scoliosis and jaw), but he had come through everything very well. Our youngest son Daniel was born in Nov. 1986. heart (8 months old) and he is scheduled for scoliosis surgery the summer of 2002. Even though our sons have gone through a great deal medically they are wonderful. Since graduating from college I have been a probabtion officer (Early on I realized it wasn't for me), a computer programmer, an at home mom, and currently I have a brokers license and general contractors license in California. I take on small projects since my family still needs me. My life has had its ups and downs, but most of it has been up. I guess I have been lucky.Besides spending time with my family I enjoy swimming, reading, and needle work. I always find myself volunteering in various capasities. Helping others is something I find very rewarding. I have headed up a number of fund raisers and gotten involved in politics. I would enjoy very much hearing from other graduates from Mt. Diablo, CSUN, and West Coast University. I wish all of you the best.
