Sharon's Story
Wow! I just deleted the past three years of my life and the world keeps turning!
This past week I reached the age of 71 and I'm still celebrating with friends and family. I take nothing for granted anymore.
I went to the All School Reunion in Ionia in June and saw a few of our classmates. I also missed seeing some of our classmates that were there but of course there were many more that didn't come.
I am still staying busy with my volunteer work for Hospice of Holland and truly enjoy all that I'm involved in. I do data entry work at the Hospice office, I work on the reception desk at Hospice House, I do marketing events, I've arranged flowers for the patients at the house, and my favorite project is the one every December where we wrap books at Barnes & Noble for donations. The family keeps me fairly busy as the grandkids are growing up and doing more activities and sports. Tomorrow I'm going to go pick blueberries with my two middle grandchildren. It's become an annual event.
I haven't had any big vacation trips since my trip to China 3 years ago. I truly enjoyed that trip and would go again in a heartbeat. Most of the vacations I've had since then involve going "up North" in Michigan. I could do that anytime and be completely happy.
I would hope that all my classmates are having a good summer and enjoying reasonable health. At our age that's about all we can expect I think. I look forward to all the years I may have left on this earth and when I go, I'm going to have no regrets. I'm having the best life ever.
