Sharon Michael's Story
Life: Well, life is moving along and I am moving right along with it! Retired from a career I was both successful in and truly loved - Marketing Communications (Advertising, Promotions, Events, Marketing) several years ago. It afforded me the opportunity to travel the world and live in some very nice places.
And I have to say - I attribute quite a bit of my career to our teachers - the old school - where they required us to learn or we couldn't move on. My career was built on the foundation provided by all our English and Lit teachers from grade school on up! And I can't tell you what taking that typing class did for me over the years! LOVE to cook and obviously do it well as everything I make sticks on me somewhere!!!!!
My second husband, Matthew, passed away in 2006, just two weeks after our 40th reunion, and sadly now get my own way on everything I want to do. My children are over that 30 year mark so now I consider them to be on the younger side of middle-aged - but still lumped in with me in the same band! And there are 3 grandchildren I own up to - IF they are behaving! I've always told them I was 21 when they asked my age. Fun while it lasted............:-) Oldest is now in ...Expand for more
college and the other two in high school. Our old rival - Madison - of all places!!
I still love to dance and sing to the oldies but goodies and I have made a pact with myself to never grow old. Older is OK - just not OLD. Too many places to go, people to meet and things to do yet. I moved down the shore and am here 8 months and then on Siesta Key in Sarasota, FL for the winter 4. Life is good and I'm thankful I'm still active!
I've told 'new' friends and acquaintances over the years about the relationships I still hold near and dear with those I went to grammar and HS with. I have yet to encounter anyone from my work or places I've lived who still have bonds with so many - if any - of their former classmates. People are amazed that many of our class still email, talk to and see each other and have kept our friendships alive anywhere from 41 to 54 years now. Especially in this age of mobility and so many of us scattered across this country and around the world.
I wish each and every one of you who cared enough to find me and read this health and happiness in the years to come. Should you wish to 'reach out', please do so! I'd love to hear from you.
