Shaun's Story
Life
Hi all!
Lets see. Since High school I have worked for Builders Square(9 1/2 yrs), and traveled the U.S. working for MPI Marketing Group/In-Store Marketing Services(5 yrs.)representing clients from Energizer batterys to Olympic Stains. This consumed a lot of my time and I spent many nights away from my family. A little over a year ago I started my own construction company (Dietz Home Improvements, Inc.) with great success. All along throughout my life I have been working construction on eves and weekends with my brother in-law who is a real estate investor. I loved this kind of work more so than all of the ass kissing that is involved with the Retail world. So I took the risk and went for it.This has allowed me to spend a lot more time with my wife and son. Right now my life is great! I have an 8 year old son and I have been married for 7 years. Yes, we had the kid then got married. Don't judge, I know you were raised in the hood too. Plus, we have been together since 1991(she knows the exact date). We are currently living in Vancouver as the school system here is excellent compared to Portland. Not to mention you get so much more home for your money in Vancouver! It's a gre...Expand for more
at place to raise a family. Also, I think we have fewer crackheads per capita than Oregon.
What else?... I have 2 dogs, a Lab and a mini Schnauzer(wifes dog), 2 cats, and some fish. I love to take Andrew(my son) out on the ATV's in my free time(which is rare lately). We also enjoy PS2. We are Gamers!
I work mostly 6 days a week as I am self employed and my company is growing steadily. I love my work and take great pride in the finished product.
I have not stayed in touch with anyone from High School except for John Wilson and Chris Harris. John is struggling with his inner demons right now and I hope he pulls out of it. Chris Harris(AKA "Cracker") is a starving musician as some of you might already know from his Gigs at the P- Club.
For the most part, I don't get over to my old hood very often. There was a point after I graduated that I decided I had to get out before I ended up like most of my friends. Either in Jail, dead, cracked out or homeless. Everytime I go to North Portland I see someone from school who is in one of those categories. It's kind of depressing to know that these people have not done anything productive with their lives. Oh, well.
Thats all for now. C-ya
