Shauna's Story

Life Where do I start? A guy I work with told me about this site and how much success he had reconnecting with long lost friends. Thus, I thought I would check it out in hopes of seeing what my old friends are now up to and how their lives have progressed. Lord knows there are times when I hear a certain song or particular name and think to myself, "Oh...that reminds me of so and so when we went to this party in high school..." or tell my girlfriends who are expecting children, "Yeah...I really like that name for a boy because I went to school with a guy who had that name and he was...." I think you all get the picture. Anyway...enough babbling. My life, I have to say, has been tremendous. I have traveled all over the world. My friends and family tell me my passport is my soul mate. I think they are right. I spent an entire month backpacking with friends through Ireland earlier this year...complete blast! Thank God I have a career that not only challenges me, but pays well and allows me tons of time off so I can travel and pursue other adventures. After graduating from college with a bachelor's degree in History and Biology, I went to work for the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Definitely learned a lot there! I left there after five years and have been a Crime Scene Investigator for an Orange County based police department for almost five years. And yes, shows like CSI are the death of me. :) I can safely tell you right now, the department I work for would not give one of us a bright yellow colored H...Expand for more
ummer to scoot about town in...just wouldn't happen. But in all honesty, I couldn't ask for a better career. No one day is really ever the same...lots of autonomy, and, of course, I get to see some pretty interesting stuff! My personal life, well, that's kind of a different story. I regulary work upwards of 60 hours per week. Very long days...and often nights. Therefore, I don't have a lot of time to do the things I would otherwise be doing all the time. For example...snowboarding. Love it, but don't get the chance to do it a whole lot during the winter season. But I always make sure I make time for running, working out, shopping, spending time with my friends and family...and my two and a half year old Godson, Conner. He has changed my life dramatically. I never thought I wanted children of my own until he came along. It is true...one little person can change your whole life. :) In my spare time, I do work on my home. Being a homeowner is great, but there are times when I would rather not make three or four trips to Home Depot in the same day. Blah! And trying to put in granite countertops without the help of a qualified professional...not a good idea. Not much else to report here...still have all my original teeth, haven't had any plastic surgery, and, am proud to say, have not been married and divorced once, twice, or multiple times. This last blurb... totally meant to be a joke. Life has been good to me. The Lord has shown His love for me in more ways than one...I am both blessed and grateful. :)
