Shawn's Story
Life
After high school I went to work as an Auto Mechanic and moved to Fredericksburg VA in 1985. Married in 1988 and had 2 children, continued working as a mechanic until November 1995 when I suffered a back injury.
Changed careers and went to work for Geico Insurance in Feb 1996 and started college that spring. Continued to work for Geico until 1999 when I was hired by a firm to work as a Test Engineer to help the US Customs Service confirm their systems were Y2K compliant.
After a year I was hired by SRA International as...Expand for more
a Test Engineer for a product that verified SEC compliance for financial institutions. From there I was selected for a number of government projects and bounced around to where ever I was needed.
Then just last year I was offered a position with BAE Systems as a Sr. Test Engineer\Lead on a project close to home which cut my commuting time to only 30 minutes (from 90 min).
Other than that... my children are growing to fast; my son is 16 and my daughter will is 13! Where does the time go!!!
