Shawn's Story

Life I don't know if anyone reads these things, but here goes. Hello classmates, Whoever you are, I hope things are going well for you and you're happy with life. I just got an e-mail asking for help with the 10 year reunion. God we're getting old. As for me, I took some time off of my education after high school but went back a few years later and bot a B.S. from West Chester. While I was there I completed an internship with the Ocean City, MD police department. I liked it so much I decided to stay and I'm now living at the beach full-time. Before you get too jealous, don't be. There's something about living in a resort town that makes you lose your love of the beach. I love the ocean, I spend as much time as I can on it, but I've probably only been to the "beach" five times in the last five years. The best part about living down here is that the summer's are wild and crazy and pretty much anything goes. That's countered by the off season which is quiet and relaxing. It always makes for something to look forward too. Believe it or not, there is a small town mentality hidden under this tourist attraction. All the locals know one another and they know everything about one another (hey wait, am I still in high school?!?) As for the marriage/kids thing, I'm doing fine there to...Expand for more
o. I have no wife to answer to and no kids to take care of. It's a great life. I've had a few serious relationships and was living with a great girl (hi Arica) for a few years. We realized that we were not going to work out in the long run, so we cut our losses and moved on. I don't know when I'll update this next, so for now I'll just say that I'm dating a few people, and I really like at least one of them. One of the good/bad things about living in a resort is that most of the people you meet are from out of town. Most of the local girls are drunks (145 streets, 160+ liquor licenses, you do the math)and the nice ones that you meet go back to the real world when they check out of their hotel rooms. Some people seem to let down their inhabitions when they're on vacation and that's all I'm going to say on that topic. Anyway, one of the perks of living in a place like this is that a lot of people you know come for vacation and you end up running into them. If you make it into Ocean City, track down a cop and ask them if I'm working, I'd love to talk to you. If you know you're going to be in town, leave me a voice-mail at 410-520-5327. I'd be happy to meet you for some food and drink and to show you around. Again, I hope you all are doing well and maybe I'll see you around. Shawn Beach
