Sheila's Story
After graduation my family moved to the coast. I started college at MS Southern. Met my husband when I was a freshman. Nuff said! He was in the Air Force and we moved a lot! We were lucky enough to do 9 consecutive years in Europe. We came back to the states for a few years and then went to the Orient for a couple of years. We finally settled in Colorado (my husband's home) and he retired as a Colonel. I was able to finish my degree when we were stationed in New York at Cornell and really loved attending an Ivy League school in the late 60's...Expand for more
. It was so different than anything I had ever been exposed to.
My husband passed away in 2009 after we were married for almost 45 years. He had Non-Hodgkins Mantle Cell Lymphomia. I have 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren Our family is such a source of joy and pride. Glad I was raised in the south though because I liked the fundamental values I taught my children. They are all strong and productive adults.
Now I enjoy traveling, volunteering, painting and spending time with friends and family. I am very lucky. Life is good!
