Sheila's Story
Life
It is like returning to an old house or seeing an old friend, the memories swirld inside of us some good and some sad. All it takes sometimes is an old familiar smell or seeing someones name and I am back being a teenager. My husband and I don't really like talking about the past. I think of the saying "let it be" . We cannot change the past, only learn from it and move on. Well it is now 2011, and I know I am thankful to still be here. I am making an effort to make 2011 a "year for change". Try and break an old habit that has been keeping you back from your full potential. I wish everyone a great 2011 and hope God continues to watch over us. Well it is now mid 2008 and guess what? I graduated from Chapman University on my birthday May 18, 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice. My family was there and it was great and I am so happy it is over. I wish I would have done it before my kids came along but they were also my incentive. My little brother had a baby girl in March and she is so beautiful her name is Katelyn, named after her great aunt who passed away a few years ago from cancer. She came to my graduation and so did my nephews that I had not seen in a long time (it was really great). Well I turned the big 38, and I really have to take better care of myself. I still am a Correctional Officer and found out that I passed the Sergeants tests and now I have to decide if that is the path I want to take. Well take care and see everyone at the 2008 reunion.
