Sheila's Story
I was at the Mount Miguel 20th reunion. Wow, another 30 years have gone by! What have I been doing? Since that time, I retired as an American Airlines flight attendant after decades of service. I went back to school and got a few degrees, (I was more into fun in high school..) and became a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
I lived in the Los Angeles and Conejo Valley areas for decades until my husband and I moved closer to San Diego in 2010.
Now, I live in the mountain foothills above Temecula, CAL, with my husband, Todd, of 30-something years. I still do counseling and therapy part-time by telephone and video. The rest of the time I am with my husband and pets on our quiet, peaceful farm/ranch. I have always been a big-time nature lover, so we feel like we bought our own camp-ground to live on full time. It is wonderful to me. We no longer feel the...Expand for more
urge to take the camper out.
If I think of anything else, I will add it, so that is it for now.
Oh, I almost forgot (and how could I)...I have had both knees replaced in the last few years. Too many years as a flight attendant and also from falling off horses in my 20's caused my knees to get trashed.
Boy, it takes a brave soul to do that surgery. I guess I am brave, especially for the second one, already knowing what I was in for. Health in other areas of my body declined after the second replacement. I believe I almost died last year from the collapse of my body. I have now healed myself and my body, in spite of what doctors told me to do. That is one of my major accomplishments; by using my research-queen abilities, I defied doctor's orders and healed myself. I now feel younger than before the surgeries and am very grateful for all I have.
