Sheila's Story
After high school went to Ohio State University and graduated with a degree in Natural Resources. Went to work for the National Park Service at Padre Island National Seashore in Texas. Met my future husband, Ricardo, there (he was the boss). Moved to Carlsband Caverns in New Mexico where we married. Then moved to Redwoods National Park in northern California where we had 2 kids - Gabriela (now 21) is studying nursing at the University of New Mexico and Carlos (now 19). Carlos was born with severe kidney problems and had many operations ending with a kidney transplant right before his freshman year in high school. Now he's a strapping 6'0" and a freshman in college studyiing law enforcement.

oulder City, Nevada (Lake Mead) which is about 20 miles outside of Las Vegas. I have gone on to get a BS and MS in Elementary Education and am on a slow track working on a Doctorate in Education. While my husband retired after 40 years with the National Park Service, I am working as a Learning Strategist at a school that has a 62% homeless population, it's an extremely rewarding job.
Looking forward to moving to Albuquerque, New Mexico in summer of 2011 to be near my husbands 11 brothers and sisters (and 100's of other relatives) who are mostly in Santa Fe (where they were born and raised) and Albuquerque.
I go back to Ohio often to visit my sister in Plain City outside of Columbus. She is battling cancer and I go and help out.
