Sheila's Story
Life
After graduating I decided not to go to college right away. In 1988 I married Dennis Essen (9 yrs my senior) and later that year had my son Jonathan. He was in such a hurry to get here he actually came in a different year! He was due Jan. 16th 1989 and arrived on Nov. 28, 1988 on his dad's birthday!
For several years I worked for the State of Missouri but was able to "early retire" because of my husband's job. He is the Regional Information Systems Director for Cingular Wireless (what most would call--a glorified techie). We lived in Kansas City, Kansas for 2 years and just moved back to Missouri June of 2002.

t been in good health for the last several years (part cause of early retirement). But we live with what we are given and since I have been blessed with a wonderful family; I intend to stay around for many more years. My condition is not a fatal one but a chronic and difficult one. Being ill has taught me one major thing. Watch my priorities. Don't let time pass without letting loved ones know you love them. Careers are nice--I was in line to be the youngest supervisor my department has ever had. So I was driven to "succeed". But to what cost? I'm enjoying life, spending time with my family and just found this site. What more could anyone ask for?
