Attached is a word document you can edit instead which reads like below: ------------------ High School was both bitter and sweet. My sister Sandra (now deceased) and I were close. We attended the same grade school, high school and University. At MPH we were even in Band together. I made some good friends in Concert Band. One even helped me with a bully, and I thanked her for it when I was planning the “Reunion 2000”. Being a people person, I thoroughly enjoyed planning the reunion, even though it was a ton of work. I ended up heading 2 reunions. Trying to be centrally located, they were held in Chicago's downtown. We wanted to appeal to people from everywhere (out of state, and anywhere in the Chicagoland area). Always interested in the whys, I became an educator. Remember when growing up, "Why Johnny Can't Read?" was a mantra heard for years. I wanted to know. I became interested in education, particularly in Chicago. I was on scholarship as an undergrad and then went on to receive my MS in Education. I taught in Chicago for a while. Later I relocated to the Northside ...Expand for more
and what a huge difference in learning I saw. I am not willing to knock teachers, but there is a huge disparity (and I'm not talking about just the real estate). Having a heart for the whys and truth, I was able to sit on a Community Relations Commission for years and planned some very outstanding programs for Black History Month. You may recall a Neo-Nazi madman shooting people because he said that minorities were worthless and "mud" people. He killed Ricky Birdsong in front of his Skokie house while he was playing with his children. He was a coach at Northwestern University at the time; so much for "worthless". Back to the whys. I decided I needed to know more about the Bible and during my time up North, I discovered BSF Bible Study Fellowship. It is an amazing ministry. There are 1000 chapters around the world. My husband and I have been a part of it for years. I've been happily married to Mark for years and have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. My son graduated from one of the top 10 high schools and received a BS in finance and an MBA. My daughter is dealing with pandemic driven online learning and wants to be a veterinarian. God willing maybe a 50th e- reunion? Perhaps an all class reunion in the future, say 2022 👍
