Sheila's Story
I married Alan Reed in 1972. We had been married 29 years when he died from a heart attack in December of 2001. I received a BA in English from Shorter College in 1973. I gave birth to my only son Grant in 1980. I received a Master's Degree and a Ph.D. both in English from UGA. I presently live in Carrollton, GA and teach AP and senior English at Bowdon High School. school webpage. I suppose to some of my classmates it might seem rather ironic that I have been a teacher for the past 33 years since I swore in high school that I would never be one.
I have now retired after teaching for 4 years at the University of West Georgia and consulting for Carroll County Schools. I have one grandson called Tripp because he is a third generation Alan Grant Reed. Grant and family live near Nashville, and I visit as often as I can.
