Sheldon's Story
Life
Currently live in San Francisco and Guerneville, CA. Played bass trombone with local orchestras until early 2000's - mostly amateur stuff with a few paying gigs, including Marin Symphony, Santa Cruz Symphony and San Francisco Civic. Now studying classical guitar and jazz piano. Fishing continues to be primary vice along with photography - if the fly rod doesn't work, the camera usually does. Continuing excellent success at second marriage - not so on the first. One daughter, Kate, by first marriage, now living in Boston with grand-children, Gavin and Lily. After SRHS, received BA at SF State [63] and MA at CAL in Political Science [65]. Served with National Guard in Watts Riots, and was tank commander for most of reserve duty [63-69]. tarting 1973, including assignments in Burma, Ghana, Bahamas, Western Samoa, and Mauritania. Most assignments were advisory postings supporting local computer training programs, with the exception of Mauritania which remains classified by the UN. Published several papers on hydrological modeling with colleagues from the Volta River Authority in Ghana. Returned to USA in 1981 as a private software consultant doing contract programming - mostly in database and telecommunications applications. Left consulting in 1987 to work for Bank of the Orient in San Francisco as a technical support manager. Involved extensively on successful volunteer hydrological system project with CalTrout to re-water upper Eel River during the late 90's. Semi-retired back into private consulting in 1999, and now specialize in management consulting, technology risk assessment, controls development, and forensic auditing.
