Shelley's Story

Currently, I live in Worthington, OH. I am a customer service rep for Verizon FIOS doing tech support for telephone, internet and cable. Now doing cable is a trip for a blind person. Lol, try supporting something you've never seen! Thank God for help files! My kids? Andrew is 17. Is an excelent athlete, attracts nice girls and has his driver's license. Yep, a blind person owning a car has been an interesting experience. I liked my life better without one. Paying the insurance for a child who is the primary driver is very expensive! Mathew is 15. Is also an excelent athlete, plays trombone in the band and sadly will quit after this year. The boys are convinced band is for geeks! Angie is 12, and Megan is 11. They both like singing and Angie plays the flute. And I'm sure they'll be athletic as well. I think I now understand how my parents must've felt going to all my music stuff. d to enjoy it, but who can know. I'm not gonna lie! I hate going to all these sports events and getting absolutely nothing out of them. But it's fun to hear the kids' names over the PA when they do something really cool! The kids' dad lives in Rhode Island and is missing everything! My husband is blind. He works for VOICEcorps Reading Service as a broadcast technician. We've been married 6 years. Hobbies? Lol, who has time! I hardly ever sing or play the piano anymore. Sort of lost interest and motivation. I'm way too busy. My house is constantly full of children as I live within walking distance of all the schools. Every day is Like Christmas, ya never know who's gonna show up! I try to stay involved with the Worthington Lions, the American Council for the Blind, and volunteer for Newsreel Magazine. And I do my best to make time for my friends. God bless you all. Now let's keep in touch.
