Shelley's Story
Life
After doing all the right things to satisfy the expectations of others, I am finally on my path to do the kind of work and live the life I really want to live. I live in the Southwest with my husband and daughter and two dogs. We're building a house, started a business and working on another big project. I hope to retire from working day-to-day by the time my daughter reaches school age. I want her to have an exceptional life, which involves learning languages, travelling and experiencing cultures all over the world.

isliked high school. I liked the freedom to really expand my mind with all kinds of subjects (not my college major). I still love to learn and I take classes in addition to teaching (on top of my regular job). My biggest regrets were that I worried way too much about guys and what others thought of me. My other big regret was not doing a foreign exchange program. I didn't do it because I felt that playing basketball was so important. What a waste! I certainly wasn't going to play in college. I could have learned another language back then rather than waiting until my 30's.
