Shelly's Story
After graduation, I attended URI for one semester. I immediately started working as a secretary for various RI company's and in 1984, married Todd McGinn, who was my boyfriend senior year of high school. In 1986, we moved to Florida and in July, 1987, my son, Kyle, was born. Unfortunately, we divorced in 1992 but I have my wonderful son.
In 1990, I began working for a personal injury law firm and did so until 2004. Additionally, I sang in local night clubs a few nights per week to supplement my income. (I couldn't carry a tray so,....well, I guess they thought I could sing better) I did that until I met my now present husband in June, 1999.
I married my husband, Lars Mansson, on June 7, 2003. Life begins at true love! My husband and I have a gorgeous home in Cape Coral as well as a beautiful beach house in Captiva, Florida. This is a secluded beach only attainable via boat and we love it.

his office but with a small company that he also owns specializing in payroll, worker's compensation and general liability insurance. I really enjoy this business and being with him every day. Wow, even after almost 10 years!
My son served 1 1/2 years in the Army and now resides with his grandmother. He is on his journey of "locating himself" and hopefully, this will occur shortly so mom can breathe easier. Never will one experience such a love deeper than a child's!
To all classmates, I wish you well and hope that all your dreams came true.
P.S.: From the little girl that sang your class song on graduation day (it was bad, I'm sorry), I actually became a professional singer for approximately 10 years. I worked steadily and absolutely enjoyed every minute of it. I quit when I met my husband as it didn't coincide with his scedule but I am thankful to all those that had the confidence in me to even get near a microphone 'cause age makes one attain confidence that breeds competence!
