Some may remember - my grandmother raised me back on the river, over eight miles from Crystal River. When I hit about seventeen, she told me Crystal River was too small and I needed to go find what I wanted. She did not kick me out, but she was usually correct. I went from Florida to Austin, Texas, for six years, and then to San Francisco, CA, for three years. I arrived in Seattle, WA, in 1997 and love it. I have been married for over 26 years. I have four children - one from my first marriage, who will be 39 this year, and decided to make me a young grandmother. My second husband and I have three beautiful children - 24, 22, and 17. Many have asked me about my name change. Shelly was my nickname growing up. My legal name was Mechelle. I changed when I got older simply because it was more adult. For personal things, I use my married name. I use both my maiden and married name for business.
