Sherri's Story
My adult life has always revolved around my family. When I was younger all I ever wanted to be was a wife and mother, and that has been the primary focus of my life.
I was engaged to Mark Petersen (a neighbor and Sheldon graduate of 1978 -- and an awesome guy!) two days before my 18th birthday (I skipped a grade when I was younger, so yes, I was out of high school and in my only semester of college at the time), and got married four months later.
One year after that I had my first child, Brian. We moved from Eugene to Provo, Utah just two months after he was born so my husband could attend BYU. Four other children followed during the next 10 years: Celisa, Laura, Tara, and Kyle.

l was always to quit as soon as possible. Raising my children was my top priority and brought me a lot of joy.
I have spent many years involved in the PTA, in many capacities. And I have always been heavily involved in my church. I have enjoyed supporting my husband through his schooling and career.
In September 2000 we, along with four partners, opened a residential treatment center (private school for troubled youth) in Logan, Utah. Mark commuted the two-hour drive (each way) for 4-1/2 years, and after out three oldest children had graduated from high school we made the move to northern Utah with the youngest two kids. It has been a good move for us.
At this time we have three married kids, a single daughter who is just finishing cosmetology school, and our youngest son is a sophomore in high school and home alone with us. (Lucky him!) We have six grandkids -- which is hard for even us to believe! But oh, what a great thing it is to be a grandparent ... I love it!
