Sherri's Story
I started high school at Pattonville High in Maryland Heights Mo. My family moved to Monett, Mo in November of '69.I was a sophmore. It took me awhile to adjust to a move I didn't want to make. I left a very large school in St.Louis County and was now in a small school in a semi-rural community. I did adjust and enjoyed the freedom of a small town. I got to do things that I wouldn't have been able to do in St Louis. After graduating in 1972 I married Don Curtis Johnson. We had 3 children before divorcing after 10 years. fter my divorce I worked in several restaurants in the area and a couple of factories. 10 years after our divorce , Don took his own life. It was hard as our youngest son was only 12.Our oldest son was in his senior year in high school and our daughter was in college. I had recently moved to Cassville with my youngest son. We then went to Jenkins,back to Monett and then to Harrisburg Il, where I managed a payday loan company for two and a half years before coming back to Monett. I currently live is Freistatt,Mo and enjoy spending time with my family and especcially my grandaughter.
