Sherri's Story

Hi everyone!!! I hope my message finds all in good health. I looked at the Story Ideas. #3 What's the wildest thing(s) you ever did in school? caught my eye but was too embarrassed to list all or any one thing that I did and thankfully never got caught. During Senior year, I finally began to find my voice and very surprised that Renata Harris did not send me to the dean. It took some time before I spoke my truth but made sure that I was right before I did. I hate to eat crow just like everyone else. I can say that I am very good at making mistakes. I only hope that I am learning from them. Most everyone knows that I married John Crew who was another 1984 grad. We married on Oct. 5, 1991. In high school, I was the quiet and serious type and must admit a nerd. As with everything in life we change, I am no longer the quiet type, although I am still an academic and spend a ton of time researching various subjects and interests. I graduated from Purdue and became an engineer or enginerd for Delco/Delphi along with many Western grads including John. Mark Love worked next to me in my group for some time which gave me some of the best days at work. Mark had a knack for making the days go fast with his unique and colorful use of the English language and humerous anecdotes. Thank you Mark! I will always miss working with you. In addition to working with Mark, I worked with Brian Chandler who graduated prior t...Expand for more
o us. He and Mark provided me with tons of laughter with their not so professional use of the English language. John and I have one child; a son named Jordan. He was born on Aug. 18, 1997. He will be 11 soon and is a gifted child. He has developed the typical teen attitude, at 10, of knowing more than his parents which is not working well in this household. So parenting is becoming more of a challenge regarding this particular issue. His idol is Albert Einstein. That should speak volumes. We are looking forward to when he sleeps in late and has no taste for animation. Having Jordan was a huge shock for us as we were told that I couldn't have children. Thanks Dr. McKenzie. (Now, I never believe any doctor 100%, not even close.) Jordan has been a blessing to us and continues to surprise us with his depth of knowledge and understanding. I believe that he teaches us more about ourselves than we could learn otherwise. It is finally nice to be able to hold an intelligent conversation with him but when do all of the cartoons go away? I have learned its all good and everything works out for the best. The last 10 years have been rough for me but have also brought me many gifts that I could never have gained otherwise. I have much more to share but my son is insistent that he needs my help. I doubt that he does but had better see what he needs. Best Wishes, Many Blessings, and Much Abundance Take Care Everyone
