Sherrie's Story
Life
After I returned from MEXICO in 1980, I finished my last year at ELHS in June of 1981. I went to college in PENSACOLA, FL. O graduated in 1985 with a degree in Business Administration. I married Gary, the best guy in the world 2 weeks later. We moved to MIAMI, FL where I started working for Eastern Airlines. I moved my way up from the gates and ticket counter into management. In 1991, when they closed I was in Inflight Scheduling as a crew scheduler for 7000 flight attendants. I had Randy in 1991 and Cara in 1993. I went back to school (go figure) for Paralegal Studies in 1992, I obtained my CLA. I worked for a lawyer for 3 days and know this was not me. I went to the "new" Pan Am and started thier inflight scheduling department as the manager. I left after 1 year and went to Continental Connection "Florida/Carribean" and left in 2000 as their Staff VP of Flight/Ops. I was in charge of Planning, scheduling and training of the pilots-6000 flights per month. I was tired. Took 9 months off and then taught HS of 2 years-10th grade English. Believe it or not, I went back to school AGAIN. I went to Nursing sc...Expand for more
hool-this is what I found I love! Graduated in 2004 and worked in a Progressive Care-respiratory unit. Mom died in early 2006 and we decided we all needed a big change. We bought a house in HAWAII and I took a job in the ICU. Well after an earthquatke and a 4 month nursing strike the plan we had turned out not to be THE plan. We regrouped and moved to FREINDSVILLE, PA. We bought a house with land. The kids are going to ELHS. I am workin in the ICU at Wilson Memorial in BINGHAMTON, NY. Gary has officially retired. He keeps us all straight and organized. I once again I am in school, I should finish my MSN early 2008. I am back home and this time it feels right.
School
High School I did not feel I fit in. I was not focused. I would rather be working the farm.
College I tolerated because I wanted the education, as far as the rest of the college "stuff" -- I put up with alot!!!
My Nursing school -- loved it -- I finally found where I belong. Great experience, loved every minute of school!
Working on my MSN, hope to have it early 2008!
