Sherrie's Story
Life
After graduating high school..I spent four years at the University of South Florida in Tampa. I made lasting friendships, joined Delta Gamma Sorority and became a student ambassador representing the school during many functions.
I graduated in 1999 with a degree in Communications and headed off to Atlanta to become a News Reporter for a Adelphia Channel Four News. I fell in love with the city and my line of work. I started anchoring and hosting an entertainment show. I also did some freelancing work for the ABC affiliate. I attended movie junkets in N.Y. and L.A. where I interviewed celebs. One of my most memorable stories involved interviewing retired Air Force Colonel Oliver North about an Anti-terrorism platform.

In 2003, my station shut down...owners embezzeled money and many people lost jobs. I managed to pick myself up and get a job with WIAT, Birmingham's CBS affiliate. I became a Photojournalist/Fill-in Anchor and also met my fiance. I am marrying Brandon Morgan in Lakeland this October. He was a photographer at my station.
We recently moved from Birmingham to Morehead City, N.C. I now work for WIAT's sister affiliate...WNCT, a CBS station based in Greenville, NC. I report for the six o'clock news and my stories also air on the FOX affiliate.
My dream is to one day go back home...but getting a news gig in Tampa is hard, you have to pay your dues. So, here I am in North Carolina planning my wedding and enjoying life with Brandon and my kitty, Coconut.
