Sherry's Story
Currently, I am living in El Segundo, CA with my husband, Nathan (retired Air Force) and our two children, Tasha and Nate Jr., who are both attending Santa Monica College. I work in San Pedro at Dana MS in the Special Education Office. Such perks as: vacation days, mentoring kids, and the fantastic people I work with keep me there.
I love researching my family and have started a website online. That research has led me to Oklahoma to my Creek, and Chickasaw Freedmen Roots and Northeastern Louisiana searching for the MORRIS & WAX families in Claiborne and Morehouse Parishes. My family research has also led me to two plantations and a slave owner in Arkansas.
I am now back home (Cali) where I am finding out that I may be related to quite a few people there, including fellow classmates from Edison High School in Fresno,CA.
I recently contacted relatives all over the United States for our Pauley Family Reunion held in Arkansas July 10-12 2009. The next scheduled Reunion is in Tulsa OK in July 2011. My Cousin Linda who also was my teacher at Edison High School also attended the Reunion and had an exciting road trip afterwards, meeting Former President Bill Clinton at his Presidential Library in ...Expand for more
Little Rock,AR. AWESOME!
So if you are bombarded with lots of questions about, "Who are your people ?", I am looking for a connection! So, please excuse all the cousin questions. GOT ROOTS in AR,OK,LA,TX and other states? Call Me!!! LOL (smile)
Although we have been here almost 10 years, one day we plan to return to the Fresno area for our second retirement. My sisters, Terri (Cookie) Morris and Tella (Nell) Morris are still living in Fresno, with my niece Ber Naz Jonae, and two nephews Calvin (C.J.), Joseph Jr., and tons of other relatives.
Where have I been since 1978:
Pitzer College 1978-1982 was the experience of a lifetime. I grew up, had the best education ever, and came out of there prepared to be the person I am today.
Air Force life was a blessing, and an adventure, we moved five times.
Husband retired from the Air Force.
Just celebrated 24 years of marriage.
Now, I am on the other side of life where I am often reminded that man makes his plans but God orders his steps. Life, love, parenting, and relationships are nothing without God the Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit, and faith. My desire is that the remaining years be within God's Will, spreading the Good News and Love!
