Sherry's Story
I hope everyone remembers me just like I was at Kearns High School, only a little more "plump" and a few wrinkles!! I really don't think I have changed much, just a bit more responsible and family oriented. My family is very important to me, love them all. However, I personally feel like an orphan.! My oldest brother (Clark Lofthouse) passed away at a young age, 23. I hope that he is not "forgotten" a wonderful brother and friend. I sure do miss him. My parents are both now in heaven also. Miss them too, the hard part was they passed away 9 mo. apart. My younger brother Mike lives in Fairview with his wife, Michelle. I don't make it back to Utah as much as I use too. I have four children "a set of twins!" I am now a grandma of eleven (the 4 children have been very busy!) I'm very proud of them, they haven't caused me too many headaches!!
My grandkids are my life.....I love em! My daughter (one of the twins) surprised me with her own set of babies! Boy and a girl....also!
After high school, not sure why but I always wanted to a flight attendant (my husband Doug has an airplane, he's a hobby pilot and I'm not a very good co-pilot!) nursing, teaching anything where I could be involved with people. I worked for the school district in Utah and Brighton. I was a preschool teacher for many years, I loved the job but when I started having those grandbabies, I decided to stay home and enjoy them. Knowing what I know now, I wish I would have kept working!! Miss being in touch with the public.....and all the friends I made over the years.
RELAX....was that the question? If anyone knows how to really relax (lol) let me know. Life gets pretty stressful sometimes. However, I do love Mexico and the Caribbean ...Expand for more
and find that can be very relaxing... I love to travel, especially near the oceans and mountains.
Oh... the wildest thing I ever did in school was, well there was were a few! I threw a tomato (very ripe) at Brother Bowles, seminary teacher (at his request)! He asked for it, it just so happened that the tomato was being passed around, it was on my day that the tomato was in my hands (desk) haha...It was funny! I got kicked out of SEMINARY!! Which was okey I really didn't enjoy the class anyway. I also went for a stroll down the high school sidewalks in my VW, I thiink it was another dare from someone!! Remember, the bug or the Pontiac, Catalina!! Poor child!! I loved school and had lots of fun, I now wish I would have taken school a little more seriously and my parents would have encouraged me to go on to college, couldn't afford it! Everyday has been a learning experience thou.
I would love to go back to work, I love being around people. But if I did, I need to have weekends off, paid holidays,and lots of vacation time. HaHa....maybe I should just stay home and do what I do,
I now live in Denver, Colorado. Love it here too...miss the mountains thou.I don't live to close to the mountains here. If you have been to the Denver Airport you could drop in! I live close so if you ever get snowed in call me!
The one person from my past who I'd like to see again is Henritta Brito, so if your out there Henri , call me. I heard she is somewhere in the Denver area, hope I get to find out where..There would be lots of people from school I would love to see again, Bonnie Cuff,Delores Jensen,Linda Hansen,Rick Lambert,Craig Thompson, Karen Bytheway,Cynde Payne (and Bill) Jackie Anderson (and Tom) ....lots more.
