Sherry's Story
After more than 30 years in nonprofit management, Sherry has moved on to a new stage in life -- retirement! Who would have thought when we graduated back in '64 that relaxing and focusing on grandkids could be so much
fun?!
After finishing her undergraduate days at the U of W, Sherry's work life centered around the Puget Sound area, where she made a professional career in nonprofit management. Sherry made her home in Magnolia before retiring to Arizona with her husband, Jim.
Sherry and Jim built a beautiful, new home in Goodyear, where they established themselves at Pebble Creek active adult retirement community. Sherry became actively involved in church activities at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, including sin...Expand for more
ging in the church choir and participating in women's bible study.
In 2002, Jim and Sherry were in an automobile accident which killed Jim and resulted in Sherry's near total incapacitation. After an extended hospital and nursing home stay, and nearly a year of therapy, Sherry was back up-and-around again.
Then, in early-2006, Sherry met and married her second husband, Rev Dr. Joe Podolak, and moved to Victoria, Texas. Sherry and Joe participate in lots of church activiities at First English Lutheran Church, where Joe continues to serve as a part-time support pastor.
Sherry would love to hear from QA grads wherever they might be. Let's catch up on the intervening years and reminisce about our fun school days.
