Sherry's Story
Life
Hi, here is a chronology of my life:
Born in 1962, at Carswell AFB TX.
Moved to California through kindergarten.
Moved to Cocoa FL. thru second grade. My parents divorced and my Motherm and I moved to CA.
Lived in Irvine CA. for third grade.
4th grade we moved to Santa Ana, CA.
5th grade my Mother remarried. John is the best man I have ever known, besides my sons.
1979-1980 attended Orange coast College.
1980 Nov. moved to Nebraska with my Fiancée. I wrote a childrens book that was never published.
1981 Moved back to CA and lived with my parents while Attending Orange Coast College and working at a factory.
1982 Married my best friend. Lived in Santa Ana, CA.
1984 Divorced Fausto-he wanted me barefoot and pregnant and I wanted a career. We stayed friends.
1984 went to work for May Co. and attended Cypress College, moved to Anaheim.
Attended Capistrano Unified School District ROP program and earned a certificate in Child Care development.
1985 Worked for a Security Co as a guard, and I was given an award by the City of Huntington Beach for helping to apprehend a rapist. I worked for the YMCA driving a bus. Moved to San Clemente, CA.
Attended Saddleback College.
1985 fall started Driving School Bus for Capistrano Unified School District and the City of Laguna Beach.
1987 Lived in my motor home in Puma Valley, CA.
1988 Married Mike. Moved to Escondido, CA
1989 Paul was born. The child of my heart.
1990-2001 Moved to Renton, WA. I drove School bus and worked various part time jobs.
1991 Moved to Seattle.
1994 Lucas was born. My Wild Child!
2001-2002 Worked for the King County Elections Board and Shuttle Express while attending College.
2003-2006 had...Expand for more
3 surgeries on my elbows and became a stay at home mom. Moved to Ft. Lewis WA.
2006 Bought my first NEW car.
2006 Attending College and working at a brand new Wal-Mart Supercenter. I love my job and College is much better this time around.
2007 I was Promoted to Merchandise Supervisor of Sporting Goods at the new Yelm, Wal-Mart. Putting School on hold for a year.
2008-2009 I attended the University of Washington and got my certificate in Digital Photography.
In 2009 I started my own photography studio and moved to South Korea.
2010-2011 I worked at the Commissary at USAG Humphreys.
2011-2012 I was a Substitute teacher for the DOD schools here in Korea.
I love to garden, travel, read, take photos, go hiking, fishing, and camping, and spend time with my sons and dog.
Just a lil bit of history.
I am going back to college to get a degree, finally.
I am a lifelong volunteer for: The American Red Cross, Boy Scouts of America, and Grey Hound Pets Inc. I also volunteer for Army Family Team Building. I teach First Aid and CPR and Disaster preparedness.
I volunteer for Disater services at shelters. I have been a registered Scouter for 13 years. I am a Greyhound foster parent and someday I'm going to write a book titled "There was a Greyhound in my kitchen sink!"
My Mottos:
Reach for the Stars- even if you don't get there, half way isn't bad!
Adopt a long legged beauty- They are the greatest dogs on earth, kind of like a giant cat! Greyhounds! of course.
My dog taught me- to jump for joy, run fast, and let the wind blow through your hair.
I hope you all are doing well and living the lives you always dreamed of. I haven't gotten there yet, but I am working on it. :)
