Life
Well, I never thought I'd be doing this, it's only been what, 19 years??
I love my life, been happily married for 11 years (this april) and my husband Peter is a great person. Brilliant, wonderful sense of humor and someone I fell in love with at the start. We met back in 1994 on a plane going from the US Virgin Islands to Miami. (we both lived on St. John at the time) Peter's an IT person and author..
Now, we've settled in Northern VA.
I'm a wildlife rehabilitator, specializing in raccoons and bats. I'm a board member at large for the Wildlife Rescue League as well as a volunteer for BatWorld NOVA. I LOVE my life!! Can it get any better than this? I work with animals everyday, talk about them when I work the hotline for the WRL, and then a lot of times, am able to get my hands on those I don't usually work with by transporting when working hotline. Peter and I used to travel a great deal but that's had to be curtailed somewhat due to the wildlife. I'm lucky to have someone who understands and loves what I do as much as I do. We used to travel to S. Africa, Australia, Europe and many others, but it just isn't possible anymore. We still get our winter trip back to the USVI every November and that's enough...
We have 3 cats, and of couse the assorted wildlife that comes through-out the year. At the moment, am taking care of 8 raccoons (at another rehabbers house) they're wintering over...and another 14 bats and again, another rehabbers house. My house, so far, is empty aside from a traveling hubby and the cats!
I can live with this. Come spring, I'll be up to my ears in pups and cubs.
I hope all that's reading this is doing well, and is happy with their life.
One of my best memories of McLean is being in Madrigals, anyone still out there?
