Sherry's Story

After High School, I went to work at Carraway Hosp. Worked in the hospital and clinic for 12 years. During that time graduated from Herzing Institute and then went to work for an ophthalmology office. Worked there for 2 years then went to work at the Eye Foundation Hospital at a prosthetic eye company - Cox Ocular Prosthetics. Had 2 sons during all this time - Ben 28 and Chris 21. Ben is in the Army - currently deployed to Iraq. Chris moved back to AL after graduation and lives in Dora now. Married my current husband 11 years ago - John, and acquired 2 daughters - Faith 21 and Rachelle 18. Faith is in Germany with her Air Force hubby Chris. Rachelle living at home while attending Austin Peay. We transferred to Nashville 9 years ago to work the office that we currently own now - Richardson Ocular Prosthetics, Inc. I make artificial eyes and absolutely love it. I did all my training in Birmingham and am now a Board Certified Ocularist. We work several locations ...Expand for more
across TN and one location in Lexington Ky. This takes up most of my time. The rest of the time we are actively involved in our church - Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN. We are both in the praise band(John is the drummer- me just the comic relief) and John teaches the High School kids in Sunday School. I know this is pretty scatterbrained, and it was strange putting it in words. I have had an interesting life since High School and have been places that I never dreamed I would go. But God has blessed. Would love to hear from some of my classmates. I think about those days often. My husband, John, now pastors our church. Mt Hermon Baptist Church in Clarksville, TN. I have a partner in company we own, Cumberland Prosthetics,Inc. I am training an Intern. Still travel to several locations and still loving this work. God has truly blessed. I have 13 grandchildren whom I adore. It is awesome to see folks I graduated with and share in where we are now.
