Sherry's Story
Life
Well, I'll start small and add more soon.
(Updated below)
2006: I've had a very eventful life. While in middle school, my parents divorced and I became a little lost in teenagehood. After leaving highschool way too early, I married and had 1 son and twin daughters. They were the best thing that could have happened to me and still are. When they were toddlers, I got my GED and then went on the nursing school. After 15 years of Med/Surg, ICU, and Rehab nursing, I joined a company that developed automated Medical Records software and I traveled the US, including Alaska and Hawaii to teach the program to staffing at Long Term Health Care Facilities.
After doing this for 9 years, I settled down doing some other things, such as home care with a wonderful little boy on a vent and working at a doctors office in Town and Country. For the last 7 months I've been fortunate enough to be able to stay at home (for the first time in my life) and pursue some of my personal interests.
I find my life changing at this age. I'm not the young girl I was just a short time ago, so I am trying to transition into and accept the next phase in my life. I'd love to go back to the mid 90's, I think they were my best. Course, I danced too much back then and now my feet hurt. : )
I am still active and love the outdoors, cycling, photography, digital imagery and love to learn all I can (something I did not do in HS). My children are all grown, married and out on their own. I have many grandchildren and feel very fortunate in life.
Married most of the time except for about 8 years in the 90's. In December of 2005, I married Ken, who was a LHS grad, although I didn't know him back during my school days. ...Expand for more
He is a very warm, wonderful and loving man and our pic is posted in my album on here.
Life is definitely challenging at times. More recently I lost my sister which was heartwrenching and still is, and in the late 80's, I lost my husband to an auto accident. But I still consider myself fortunate for all I have been given.
After losing my sister, I made a move to the peaceful country about 60 miles east of St. Louis. I have 8 ducks, 2 cats, 4 chickens and a rooster. I love it out here, looking out my window to a view 10 miles away and not seeing my neighbors. However, someday I hope to move closer but into the same annemities.
The Lindbergh days memories are still vivid in my mind and like to see familiar names. I know many of my classmates didn't know me as I was somewhat shy and left early (although I went to Lindbergh all my school years). My best friends were (and some that remain) Julie Meyer, Shar Renner, Christy Foelsch, and Donna Atkins. But there were others I remember well, especially those who grew up in my subdivision of Tealridge.
Well, I thought this would be short, but its not. I would love to hear from anyone who knew me if just to say Hi.
2007: Well, I have moved closer to St. Louis, but not much. I lnow live iin an unicorporated area of Franklin County, close to Union. It wasn't easy finding a place where I could keep my ducks, but we were delighted when we found a nice home with a pond on the property! Since my last writing I have raised 2 German Shephards from 8 weeks to a ripe old age of 1 year. I'm kinda outnumbered by pets, but I love them. What else?...just looking forward to the year ahead, spring weather, warm starry nights and meeting more "old" friends.
