Sherry's Story

High school seems like a lifetime ago but I still have so many wonderful memories of my time and my friends there. I got married to Jack Richards right after high school and moved to CA in January of 1975. Jack & I have 3 kids, Jamie (1979) and Sara & Benjamin (twins in 1981). After 15 yrs of marriage, the kids and I left CA and moved to the Seattle, WA area. Jack & I divorced shortly after the move to WA. I met Scott Kimball at work and we were casual aquaintances for 2 years before dating. It didn't take us long to realize that we were meant for each other. We were married in June of 1993. Scott also has 3 kids, Patrick (1976), Angela (1979) and Erin (1981). We are ecstatically happy and have now enjoyed 16 years of marriage. In 2004, three of our kids got married; Jamie to Eugene Chedrick in Feb, Benjamin to Emily in June and Patrick to Heidi in September. (Unfortunately, Patrick and Heidi are now divorced.) Angela got married to Paul DeZee on a cruise to Mexico in April of 2007. Sara married Danny Redington in October of 2008. Erin is about to graduate from Princeton with her PHD in chemical engineering. She will be working in The Netherlands after she finishes with her thesis and obtains her degree. We couldn't be more proud of all of our kids! Our first grandchild (Crystal Rena Kimball) was born to Patrick and Heidi in 2001! Crystal enjoys spending time with us and we love it as well. Our 2nd granchild (Samuel Benjamin Richards) was born to Benjamin and Emily in February of this year (2009) and has red hair like both grandmothers and the longest eyelashes! Our 3rd grandchild (Carter Wayne Redington)was born to Sara and Dan...Expand for more
ny in May of this year (2009) and has dark hair like his parents. His daddy just returned from his 2nd tour in Iraq and is in the Army Reserves. Sara, Danny & Carter are finally enjoying being together as a family. Angela and Paul became foster parents this year and currently care for two twelve year old boys. Our kids and grandkids are the greatest joy of our lives and we love being a part of their lives! My parents and youngest brother Roger still live in Billings and we enjoy travelling there to visit them every chance we get. My brother Ron lives with his family near Salt Lake City and my brother Jim lives nearby in Monroe, WA. We also enjoy participating in activities at our church and spending time with family and friends. Scott & I are a presenting couple for Lutheran Engaged Encounter and find this a very rewarding experience. Scott goes hunting in our beloved Montana every fall and fills our freezer with venison and antelope. Yummm!! Angela and Erin have gone hunting with him for the last 3 years and will go again this year. Scott went hunting with his father every fall for years, so is very happy to have that tradition continue. I worked in the electronics industry for many years starting in assembly and eventually document control. I have worked with a medical device company doing document control for the last few years, but will soon be unemployed. That's not such a bad thing as I will have more time for the important things in our lives like family, church and friends as well as taking care of our home. All is all, I'm very happy and enjoying my life. I thank God every day for every blessing I've received in my life.
