Sherry's Story

Life I have been married to Jackie Vickers since September 1976, one of us is crazy for staying married to the same person for so long. I THINK IT'S HIM! Everyone I meet still thinks I'm a little crazy too. They say I still smile too much. Jackie & I have 2 Children our son is 29,he graduated from MSU in 2005. He worked as morning meteorologist on WCBI in Mississippi. He met his true love Kendra, at Mississippi State and moved to Fort Smith Arkansas,with her as she is a meteorologist also, and got a job as weekend meteorologist at WKSF. My son got a weekend mornings job there also. They worked there until my son was laid off and starting working at a bank, Kendra however stayed as weekend meteorologist,until her contract ended. She got a great job at Fox Carolina, in Greenville SC as Chief Meteorologist. My son is now back in school and they are married as of a June 2009. My daughter is 23 she graduated from BBC 2004, and attended Central Alabama Community College. ...Expand for more
And now works as a daycare provider. She intends to go back to school for a degree in early childhood development. She is very good with children. We are very proud of our children. I still do theater,I have been a member of Sylacauga Community Theater for 27 years. I also teach drama, through VSA arts. My job however is working as a Senior Adult director at the Sylacauga Parks & Recreation. We have lots of fun playing cards, taking trips, and doing crafts. I was the REMOC sponser for few years, but just gave it up. I have so many things going on. Sometimes I think my life is just starting,there is so much I want to do. But time just keeps on going faster and faster. I miss my high school friends and have regular dreams about them, as I remember them in school. Workplace I work as Senior Adults Director. My job is to plan activities, trips,programs and get and to pass on important senior information through newsletters, phone calls, advertising,and person to person.
