Shery's Story
I did not graduate in Hobbs, but have always felt close to Hobbs High.
I was born in Hobbs and attended Broadmoor Elementary. My seventh grade year we moved to Salvador, Brazil, but continued to consider Hobbs as home. I did attend Houston Jr. High for a while and then my family went back to Brazil. My senior year my parents sent me to live with my sister in Lafayette, Louisiana. I graduated from Northside High in Lafayette; in my heart Hobbs High was my alma mater.

abian Gulf, got divorced in Houston,TX, lived in the Caribbean, and attended USL in engineering. As with most in the petroleum industry, I have been through many mergers, and buy outs and transfers (Shreveport, Denver, Houston) I have moved back to Lafayette about seven times. I am currently in Houston, again, due to a transfer a couple of years ago. I am an Operational Planning Analyst for an independent oil & gas company.
In Lafayette, I was active with the community and a couple of Mardi Gras Krewes. I am now attempting to adjust to the big city and working downtown.
