Sheryl's Story
Life
Any of you who can remember me I have traveled a great deal, moving with my family. I attended 4 different high schools in 4 different states. I started in New York, went to Maryland, Connecticut, then Michigan before finishing my high school. I then moved to California, Minnesota, and then finally came back to Michigan and settled down. I attended Jr. college in Minn. and in Michigan. I majored in computer programming and graduated with honors. Later I attended Eastern Michigan University where I worked for 23 1/2 years in the computer department as a mainframe operator, payroll accountant, program coordinator for Continuing Education, and eventually was one of the primary Call Center help desk analysts for the computer networking at the University. I never finished my degree which I now regret, but I can't turn back the clock now. I'm now medically retired from there as of Oct...Expand for more
. 2001 and no longer being a career woman was a major adjustment. I was married in '81, gave birth to a son in '87 and then widowed in Aug. of 1989. I then made it my job to raise my son Joseph on my own ever since. He is now 24 and in the Navy. He went in to become a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer then ended up later as an Ordinance Specialist on the helicopters. I've also raised another young man since he was 13, is now 23 and that has served in the Marines. He has just gotten out and is considering going into the Air Force for additional service. Life has it's challenges but I'm strong and I've learned to roll with the flow no matter what comes my way. My passions are NASCAR, Piston's basketball, music, and crafts.
