Sheryl's Story

Life I have been married to Larry, an executive for McCormick, for 28 years. We have 3 children - boys ages 22 (Michael) and 19 (Jordan), and a daughter (who Larry says was our love child after 16 years) age 12 (Meredith). We have lived in CA, VA, LA and Australia. We currently reside in PA. I have been at home since my children were born. This has allowed me to volunteer in their activities. I've fallen all over the rink with roller hockey (got Coach of the Year, though, and received my first and only trophy). When my son played ice hockey, I sat in the penalty box wearing my Laura Petrie coat (the most amazing part was that he wasn't embarrassed). I worked in their school classes. I volunteered for the high school marching band. I've learned to never say never. I always said that I would never be a band parent and walk in a parade, but I absolutely love being with the band. One of my favorite things was to see my son, Jordan, play cadence (he was lead snare and section leader). Michael just graduated from Penn State with a Business Management degree. or jobs. Meredith is not intimidated by older boys. She is entering 7th grade. She likes doing crafts, music, art, swimming and playing sports for fun. My passion is practicing yoga. I've been studying for 3-1/2 years and I actually have some muscles now. I'm so proud, although Meredith grabs my arm, squeezes it and tells me how squishy I am. They make fun of me and have named some of the poses for me i.e. "begging warrior, atlas." Larry enjoys rebuilding classic cars and has completed a '63 Chevy II and '63 Corvette Stingray. At the moment, Meredith and I can fit both our hinies in the front seat/belt and we go for rides locally. We enjoy going to car shows. We have been very happy and feel blessed. Connie Weaver has been my best friend since we met in line for registration our sophomore year at Dana Hills. Sadly, on April 15, 2009, she passed away. This has been very difficult for me as she was my best friend, sister and kindred spirit. She was the most beautiful person and I miss her greatly. She left behind a wonderful young man who is a great kid because he is his mother's son.
