Shirley's Story
Life
I have a 24 yr old daughter, moving to London (summer 07) in social work, and a 12 year old son. My husband, Dale Furman, is an architect. I retired as director of the Psychiatric/ Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program at California State University Long Beach in May of 2005. I have a private practice in Corona del Mar, Orange County, CA. In my practice I evaluate and monitor clients for medication and counseling. I was a Labor and Delivery nurse for over 10 years, so within my current practice I specialize in pregnancy related issues as well as anxiety, depression and sleep disorders. ogs, rainstorms, the ocean, the Smokey Mountains, music, art, Cherokee history, geneology, gardening, cooking, wine tasting, breakfast or lunch with a girlfriend, dinners with friends, reading, surfing the internet, horseback riding and watching my son play basketball. I am grateful to have an interesting job & find it very rewarding helping people get rid of their insomnia, or their depression &/or their anxiety.
