Shirley's Story
Above all I am a happy Christian. I am married to a wonderful man who spent 24 years in the navy. We retired after 24 years on sub duty. I have 1 son. It was hard to raise a child with your husband out to sea so much but, we made it. I think the time we were separated by Dave being out to sea made our marriage stronger. God was always in charge so everything worked out. Our son has grown into a good man. I am very proud of my son. 3 years until I was able to stop working. I was floral manager of the Wards Corner store when I retired. After retiring God blessed us with 3 beautiful grandchildren. 8yr old twins and 6 yr old. They make life worth living. When I went to school I was the youngest of 4 kids. I had 3 older brothers, Buddy, Kenny and Cliff. However I lost my oldest brother Buddy in 1990. He fell 30 feet while working and died. I am so blessed to have been raised in very close family so when my brother died part of me died too.
