Shirley's Story
Born in Vancouver, BC, I grew up in Surrey, BC first in Bridgeview area, then Whalley for the teen years. I was active in Christ the King Lutheran Church & other local endeavors thru the 70s
After 1972, I attended Douglas College interested in entering a Healthcare profession.
I did a practicum at Woodlands School while they were in the process of closing.
I was hired by Surrey Association for Mentally Handicapped to assist re-integration of children into the community. This was a very rewarding job in a group home in Surrey, lasting 5 years.
Since 1979, I worked for two other Associations and also did community home support for 11 years. Currently I work for posA...Expand for more
bilities Association in Burnaby- Home support & day program worker in Port Coquitlam & Maple Ridge.
So the employment history was quite successful.
I lived in Surrey, Maple Ridge, New Westminster and currently Port Coquitlam.
I met JR through my sister in 1998. We dated & been together since 2004. I don't have kids, but enjoy photography, music, travelling and spending time around the lower mainland on the weekends. In 2008, we moved into a new Condo, which we thoroughly enjoy.
The persons from my past who I'd most like to see again is Randy & Garry Meyers. They were twins & classmates from elementary school. I recall them to be fun & very smart boys.
